I don't really think there's a problem with the section's name. It helps give the impression that these are very negative practices to engage in because they are almost garanteed to make a comic bad. So they are like sins.
Of course, since this wiki has a different theme, perhaps we should change it for something that meets more the "authority" theme. "The Book of Malpractices" sounds okay, but I'd also like to suggest other titles for consideration:
- The Webcomics DON'T List
- Top Webcomic Offenses/Malpractices/Problems/Mistakes (hard to find a fitting word…)
- How to Spot a Bad Webcomic
- Signs of a Bad Webcomic
As for the Case Study, I always tried to pin down acceptable targets as examples, so that it didn't discourage new webcomic artists. You know, show them the mistakes of big, well-known webomics. But if you want to eliminate the "bad vibes", I can always eliminate that section and incorporate the examples more subtly into the text.
However, you must have examples somewhere. A more resourceful alternative would be to draw pannels and strips that illustrate the problem as examples, but I never had that possibility. If somebody was willing to draw those, fantastic.
Please suggest any other things you would like for this section before we bring it back. I take all opinions in good spirits.
